Game Day

Recently got together for another all day board gaming session. It was, as always, great fun and a good time. We started the day with 5 people in attendance and decided to try our hands at Game of Thrones for the first time. I didn’t fair too well there, as expected. John has a very nice session report of the game up at the geek.

By the end of Game of Thrones, we had a sixth player show and we broke out Around the World in 80 Days. This was new to me, but several of the others had played it in the past. I faired much better in this one and managed to pull out the win by one day in the end.

After Around the World we decided to conclude the day with a lighter fair of games. We played Great Wall of China for the first time and I think I won that one as well. Again, John has a nice session report up summarizing the event. I think after that we played a few games of Category 5 and called it a night.

Looking forward to doing it again sometime soon, most likely over the Christmas holidays.

Warhammer Online Beta

This is posted a bit late, but I just needed to say that I am currently enjoying being in Warhammer Online Beta. I got in during the recent opening of Beta 2. Sadly, the NDA prevents me from saying anymore. As soon as we are allowed to talk (probably not for a good long while) I will.

Foot-Foot Gamers Retreat

This past weekend I attended my first Foot-Foot board gamers retreat up in Lexington Michigan. This was the 2nd year of the event and my first time attending. By the end of the weekend, participants numbered 10.

The retreat took place in a smallish house/cottage on Lake Huron. It was an almost ideal site for the retreat. It just needs a bit more game play space and a few more places to sleep. Although camping in the back yard near the lake did help fix some of the housing issues (that and camping in the back of the Outlook).

Warhammer Online

Warhammer is another MMO I’ve been following for a long while. Last night I dove deep into the web site and viewed all of the pod casts and such that I hadn’t gotten around to yet. If they can pull off what they are attempting it should be a good romp of fun for a bit.

RPG List

The first draft of the RPG list has been updated and added to the RPG page. This is a list in progress. Once the list is complete, I will attempt to provide some details around some of the games in the list as time moves on. If there is any interest in a particular game, I will be sure to provide those details first.

Star Trek MMO

The Star Trek MMO was something that I was very much looking forward to. However, recent announcements about the game have made me lose some of that interest. I plan to still follow the development of the game and see how it eventually turns out, but the recent information that was made available seems to be turning the game in a direction that wouldn’t interest me.

So it begins….

Well, I finally broke down and created a blog of all things. I really don’t expect anyone to read this ever, but I needed a place to drop my thoughts on various topics. Thoughts from gaming, WoW and such to philosophy, symbolism and other random junk I happen to be thinking about at the time. Some posts here may actually make sense, some may be rants, others opinions and just plain stupid stuff at times.
